The 2023 Edelman Trust Barometer is out! Edelman is a company who partners with businesses and governments to study trust. The key themes from the Trust Barometer…
72% of employees said their employers need to rethink what work means for their employees because they don’t want to waste time at a company they don’t believe in. If you are not vegan, maybe working at a vegan restaurant isn’t your thing.
The boundaries for work and life are blurry and these damn kids have influenced us. 78% of survey respondents said that Gen Zers have influenced how they think about work. I can see this play out in office halls when I see 50+ year old guys wearing skinny jeans in the office. Bring your whole self to work. Except for the skinny jeans if they don’t fit.
Other highlights from the Trust Barometer - CEOs need to get out of their office and visit with their deskless employees more and the best place for office workers is a hybrid environment.
Keep building trust and connection.

Bill Gates vs. Elon Musk…The ultimate dongle measuring contest.
American journalist and writer Walter Isaacson has written a biography about Elon Musk. A lot of people are talking about the book and you can buy copies of the book today.
Years ago I read a book about Elon Musk (back when Tesla wasn’t that cool) but this book seems to go deeper about how crazy Musk is with his fellow billionaire cohorts like Bill Gates. It sounds like they both measure the size of their dongle with topics like how many Billions of dollars they invest into climate change and Musk isn’t happy with Gates because he shorted his Tesla stock.
Other differences between the two Billionaires - Gates has many personal assistants do work for him while Musk does it all himself. I wonder if Gates drives a Tesla OR Kia?...
One of the ways to get really good at something is to study successful people rather than resent successful people. This book will probably be controversial in the short term but sounds like some good insight for the long term.

Congratulations to companies who make it past $10M ARR...
Companies who make it past the $10M ARR mark = More money and more problems.
A lot of good can happen once you hit the $10M mark. I have been part of a company to see accelerated growth at the $10M ARR mark and I have seen our clients grow as well. The companies who fail at this stage have one thing in common. They rest on their laurels and think they have “made it”.
Stay thirsty my friends…
